i love my reef octopus skimmer i have the nwb-150ss they say it takes a week and it was skimming like a champ the second day i had it in and running

well nigel doesn't like when i change the flow pattern in the tank. i came home from work and he was hiding in a not changed the flow back to where it was and he was out in 30 seconds damn bull butt:D

+1 to lesely also more flow will also help with it good luck

i use filter socks and you should change them every 3 or 4 days. i have 5 socks so when i put my last one on i wash the other 4 in the washer with about a 1/4 cup of bleach and nothing else i also turn them inside out when i wash them then let them air dry

You can use the internal filter I just recommend replacing the filter media with rock rubble

why stop at 1 get 2 or 3 :thumbsup::D

ok so i found the deal with the sinking PVC the drain and vent PVC is as Aquarian cellular core and PVC for drinking water is not and sinks. charlotte pipe black label will float and red label will sink

the rest got sick from 3 fish i got at petco the only fish i lost from that pet place was the blonde naso tang that i couldn't get to eat and one was eaten by my carpet anemone

i ran one pump on my 55 with 2 ball valves one to control the DT and the to control the skimmer had no problems controlling either one

i go there and buy my fish so i can see what im getting and i have only lost one fish from them
