let the emeralds do their job, when i had bubble algea i added 2 emeralds and they cleaned it up, then a week or 2 later i saw a pile of very small bubbles and i just watched them and in about 2 or 3 weeks the were eventually gone i guess the emeralds have to crawl across them before they find...

i used a 30 gal long glass tank only cost me $50 from my lfs you will spend more money and time messing with plexi glass !!! its 36x12x16 i had glass baffles cut by a local glass shop cost me $40 so it cost me under $100 for the whole sump

anyone have any good success with these corals there is a really nice one at my LFS that is fairly cheap $15.00 and it is about 8" in dia when fully open looks pretty cool

yes i have individual reflectors and an interanl fan but i do have a thin peice of acrylic sheet that covers the bulbs to keep them from moisture that is removable for cleaning does the acrylic sheet affect the lighting??

im not an expert maybe someone will chim in but i have read that when changing a light system your tank and corals need to go through a acclimation time to the new lighting, adjusting them to it a little at a time. someone correct me if im wrong someone more knowledgeable should respond

what about ballast??? is their a such thing as a ballast affecting the lighting better ballast ?

do you order yours online?? if so where is the best place , and does it matter what kind of ballast or is a ballast just a ballast??

i have a 48" T5 fixture it has 4 bulbs 54w each i currently run 2 daylight and 2 actinic they are the Hagen power glo and marine glo bulbs, coral look pretty good but i was wondering is their any other combination to make them pop even more??

yes he is protected by eggcrate that keeps the chaeto protected , i guess ill just have to throw him some food in their time to time

why only acrylic on the back??? just do all glass and be done with it

with him in their will it affect the refugium filtering qualities??
