Others have you covered, but generally speaking its one pair of clowns to a tank, unless you're talking hundreds of gallons

    Death to my fishes

To answer some of your questions: For most of the basic tests the API liquid test kits are okay (Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, pH, and Alkilinity) The shades of yellow are hard to distinguish but to be honest there is not much difference between 5-10 nitrates - especially where fish are...

    Death to my fishes

My initial guess is your powerhead shredded up your anemone and it caused issues for the fish that you added to the tank. Couple of things here: First off, your tank is way, way too small for a sweetlips, and it is hard to get them to do well long term. While easier to keep, a yellow...

    Quick Question

See my post above, with any Acanthurus tang, the size probably isn't going to make much of a difference, you'll need to keep an eye on them for the first few days. Re-arranging the rocks and hanging a mirror on part of the tank may help

    Quick Question

The ABT is an Acanthurus tang, it doesn't really matter what size it is, it will want to be boss fish. Usually there is aggression for the first few days until a pecking order is sorted out between the fish. A smaller ABT won't help you here. My Acanthurus was literally a quarter of the size of...

    DIY led help

Call rapidLED and tell them what size tank you want to light with LED's and they'll set you straight. It's definitely going to cost more than $60 though. Those stunner strips are meant for color rendition, not keeping corals

    after market lighting systems

What do you mean by 'aftermarket' light fixtures? Standard aquariums don't generally come with reef capable lights

    RBTA ...what's the deal

You may want to turn the Radions down for a while to help acclimate it. Mr saltwater tank recently did par readings on the Radions and many of the readings were high enough to melt corals. Try turning the intensity down and see how the anemone responds

Need some advice from the pros

For some general information, start reading threads here and on Wet Web Media. I would also suggest getting yourself a copy of 'The Conscientious Marine Aquarist" by Robert Fenner. It is full of all kinds of good information on the keeping of saltwater fish

    Calibration fluid

It is definitely important to use the calibration fluid to make sure the refractometer is reading correctly. I try to check the calibration on mine once a month

Is it to soon to add a blonde naso tang

I would acutally add the trigger last. They are a more aggressive fish, and may take issue with any new additions added after them. Have you planned out your stock list at all? If you give us a list of the fish you intend on keeping, we can help you determine the best order to stock them...

    Vodka Dosing?

If your tank is stocked correctly and maintained with regular water changes vodka dosing shouldn't be necessary. It's an easy way to crash your tank. If you are interested in it, take a look at running bio pellets. They are a much safer way to get the same end result

Stocking ideas for a new 75g, mostly FOWLR

Between the puffer and the butterfly, long term chances for any inverts are slim. I tried a puffer for my wife and in a matter of days it went through over a hundred zoanthids, a bunch of hermits, and almost a clam. If you want any chance of corals or inverts, steer clear of the butterfly and...

    Compact Protein Skimmers

Plumbing and everything else needs to be contained on the stand, my wife doesn't want fish stuff all over the living room ( I don't blame her). The stand comes with the tank and I'm getting a close out price in it as the LfS wants it gone due to the space it takes up. I guess I could look into a...

    Compact Protein Skimmers

That's kind of what I figured, I just wanted to throw the question out there and see if anyone else had something I was overlooking. This is my one shot at an upgrade/redesign so I have to get it right :)

    Compact Protein Skimmers

So, I am fairly certain that an upgrade to a Marineland Deep Dimension 300 is in the very near future for me. I've been working with my fish guy on the new filtration setup. The only piece that either of us are unsure on is a skimmer. The display tank itself will be a 300 gallon tank, and...
