    so I tested today, 3 days after my water change and these were the numbers after WC: CAL 450, ALK 9.6, MAG 1400 Today CAL 450, ALK 8.7, Mag 1340 does it make sense that mag would drop that fast along with alk but my calcium is the same?

    the hydra has more color leds, different spectrums instead of white, blue and royal blue

    here are some updated pics...some of the zoas are reaching or half and half open/closed, not sure why In the second pic, you can see that small colony of zoas to the left, one polyp fully opens all day and the others are halfway or closed

    The sol is nice but not sure if I need more spectrum My zoas are all reaching for light though, I am only running 40, 45, 44 percent for the 3 channels

    Your going to need around 20 to 30 times tank turnover in an hour so maybe start with two 600gph koralias or two 800's

    Decent light fixture and a rodi unit to purify the water The lights are key, rodi is a must to some people but there are tanks who run tap water...just make sure you test your tap water for copper, nitrates and ammonia first

    A resctor is something you put carbon and gfo into...its used to clear the water, pull out any chemicals and lower phosphates An ato is a auto top off...this puts fresh water back in a tank when evaporation occurs

    it can be done, don't use HOB filters or canisters get a protein skimmer, reactor and ATO...that will get you started
