    New to this, skimmer help

Oh yea, the other thing you must look at is price! Generally, the cheaper the skimmer the less quality has been put into it, but there are also some extremely expensive skimmers. Reef octopus are quite good, but if you are willing to put more money into it you can definitely get a better...

    Invasive Shrimp ???

You can Keep them, but I wouldnt, better off to take them back or setup a smaller tank for them. Nice creatures, but no point having them as when they get big they can eat your fish! hahaha

    New to this, skimmer help

Well it looks like you have a big chamber there! You want to look at what you will be wanting to keep in the tank. I have just bought a deltec sc2060 which is on the way rated for a 1500 litre tank (mine is a 200 litre tank) but because I want to keep SPS tank, the skimmer will only run up...

    New Additions

What fish do you currently have ? My favorite fish was my flame angel. They are excellent looking, free swimmers and get along well with other fish. They have a 50% chance of nipping corals though. Other great fish are Clown fish, Firefish, Lawnmower blennies. Maybe a six line wrasse is an...

    Starter Corals

Hahaha at least I got it right! Does it have individual reflectors? That fixture is definitely enough for any soft or LPS corals, if it has reflectors on it, it will be good for SPS corals as well later down the track but they will have to be placed medium to high in the tank!

I`m a noob, but alrady have a ton of videos :)

Mate, I ignored your other post you directed towards me because you are not taking advice properly. You are assuming that you know more than the experts on this site. Little Fish is 100% correct. The only people I know who can do a small tank for little to no cost are those who have large...

    150g High lighting question

It all depends how wide your tank actually is. I think you may be able to get away with 2 modules. But I would be looking at a single module that would span the entire tank that you can program as one. All depends how much you are willing to spend to get your lights. Also, with your tank...

    Starter Corals

How many light bulbs are in that fixture? From what you are saying, you have 4 54 watt globes? Is this right? they don't come in 200watt gloves unfortunately!

8.day... Tell me, what I am doing right and what terribley wrong!

you would need to find the par rating of the light and work that out. Or even just by checking how corals go. I would probably try to place it about 60-70 above to start.

8.day... Tell me, what I am doing right and what terribley wrong!

Mmmm, you may need to place it higher, your tank is very shallow.

8.day... Tell me, what I am doing right and what terribley wrong!

Well, Metal Halides are the way to go! How big is your tank and how deep? I wouldnt place it too high above the tank. if your tank is deep, you will just be placing more light sensitive corals lower in the tank. Do read the article though, it will teach you about the cycle. The water coming...

8.day... Tell me, what I am doing right and what terribley wrong!

Btw, the bioballs you are talking about are nitrate factories, they store and actually are not good for your tank. Sponges and filters will need to be changed very regularly or they also become nitrate problems. Next halogen lights are not very good for the tank if you want to keep corals...

I`m a noob, but alrady have a ton of videos :)

.... 4 day life span means they tortured and killed the corals... Tbh, you can do a cheap tank on a budget. But you have to learn what will survive in that tank. How big is your tank? if the tank is 50 litres, good luck getting much into it! You can get corals and so forth in there, but you...

    Poor Urchin

Most people break the spines off the urchins on purpose! There are some that have spines that stretch over an entire tank! hahaha. So dont stress, I always break mine.
