    Blue zoo

I would email FedEx and let them know the situation. Let them know if you do have fish die that they are responsible and you would appreciate free shipping on the next round.

Little help with nitrates and such

The cadet's logic is sound. It would be wise to follow his advice. Maybe @wontonflip will join us and quote Spock.

    Blue zoo

Hopefully they'll make it, but remember it was FedEx at fault, not Blue Zoo. I hate it when people bitch about the vendor when the shipping companies are really at fault. (Even if it was the vendor, they offer refunds for DOA's anyways, even if its not their fault).

    Is this a Sponge

Sorry, forgot to answer that half. They are just filter feeders and come and go. It means therrs excess nutrients in your tank, but as long as thrres only a handful, I wouldn't worry about water quality. If you get a lot, just cut back on feedings and do a couple extra water changes.

    NOT GOOD WITH FISH

Its not like math or science. Okay, maybe like science, but still...what all was/is in your tank? What are your parameters? How old is it, how long did you wait between additions, did you quarantine and did you make sure your purchases were all healthy? There's a lot of reasons fish die, and it...

    POTM themes

That's an awesome plan, Becky. One thing on CUC is that we already have an invert POTM. Are we changing that to CUC only inverts?

    nano 28 led upgrade

There's plenty of kits out there. Search it and look up user reviews. I hear some are easier than others.

    Placement?

As far as clowns hosting an anemone, they will host whatever they want. Some carpet nems have been known to eat their hosting clowns if the nem is big enough in comparison to the fish. But clowns will host whatever and wherever they feel, such as powerheads, leathers, SPS, a piece of rock or a...

    Placement?

Depends on what you have. Some anemones and clams have to be in the sand, some have to be on rock. Anemones will also move about until they're happy. Sun corals need low light and low to slow-moderate flow and can be placed wherever suits those requirements the best. Zoas, palys and star polyps...

    Prognathodes aculeatus

That's not a bad idea, but won't it encourage it to also eat corals?

    Prognathodes aculeatus

Anybody had any experience with these guys? I've done my research and they average 3 inches but max at 4 and are tough to get on frozen, but I'm prepared for the challenge. There's a couple threads about them and it seems they do well in reef settings, but my question is if one would do well in...

    The Truth about Octopi

Adding a few Jamaican beach items to my tank

If they've been dry, I would maybe soak the rock in RO for a day or two to cleanse it a little, but it should all be fine. Maybe rinse and give a quick scrub with a soft bristle toothbrush to be safe. Glad your tank is just how you left it, though!

    Assistance with buying new aquarium

Yep, I would pick it up if it looks as good as the picture. And like Steve said, you may look at new lights down the road, ReefBreeders LED's have good reviews, and Steve and I can attest to those. But if you plan on softies and zoas, they would be fine. P.S. To replace 4 bulbs would probably...

    External Skimmers

So here's the plan: since I don't have a sump, I'd like to get an external skimmer rated for at least 40 gallons. I also would like to do some surface skimming, so is it possible to put an overflow style box in the back and have an external skimmer draw from that? And the big question is what...

    Aquarian's 36g Bow Front

My birdsnest did that. It was off white when I got it and under those lights it turned a really nice green.

    Aquarian's 36g Bow Front

Glad you like them, can't go wrong. I guess we'll see how they do long term, but in the few weeks I've had mine, my SPS have been doing great.
