    Colors for LEDs

UV is really important for coral growth, so maybe a couple of those on each fixture. Blues, purples and greens will all make it bluer and give the corals better pop. I would maybe do a few more 450/420 nm and maybe a couple green and a UV or two on each.

what to do or how to do it ?

It shouldn't be that bad. I use razors to clean my glass already anyways.

And also, don't dose ANYTHING that you don't test for.

what to do or how to do it ?

I use, prefer and recommend Instant Ocean Reef Crystals. They've worked really well for me. And of course you want to use RO/DI water. I've heard that Purple Up stuff works, but I wouldn't waste my money on it. Nothing good happens fast in this hobby. Patience is the best thing you can ever have.

what to do or how to do it ?

It's coralline algae. I suggest no more canister filter and better lighting or at least new bulbs if needed. ATI makes good bulbs. The coralline uses up a lot of calcium so you may want a quality test for that and start using reef salt instead of plain marine salt (it mixes higher salinity as...

    My First 10 gal Nano

I love Euphyllia (hammer, frogspawn, torch, etc...) I would worry about those anemones, though, as they usually need pretty stable conditions that are hard to have in a new tank.

    Lighting a 90

I never said they are the only way to go or are the best. But a bulb is a freaking bulb, dude. If corals grow, then who cares what name is on the fixture? Bridgelux vs Cree vs Chinese LED's. The bulbs do the same thing. But think what you want, if you have $600+ per fixture to blow, they work...

    Lighting a 90

I've NEVER heard of somebody switching back and saying "These expensive LED's just didn't grow my coral. Everything died."

    Lighting a 90

Okay, you're taking it too far. An led is an led. The fixture is what's a Lamborghini or a Corvette or a Nova. Saying that there's only one light to buy is kinda closed minded. They all do the job, some with cool features like an LTZ and some are the simple, manual transmission in a base model...

    Lighting a 90

And before you talk shit about the Marineland lights, check out some of the threads around here. There are several users on this site that have them and they perform well on mixed reefs. No, they are not the most expensive, high end and fancy fixtures out there, but they have proven themselves...

    Lighting a 90

No, Marineland uses 1 watt bulbs where the major makers use 3 watt bulbs. Maybe exact brands of bulbs vary, but as long as they are quality then there shouldn't be any issues. Keep in mind that EcoTech charges a premium for their products because of the wireless interface. AI, Kessil, EcoTech...

    Aquarian's Frag tank

P.S. Those metal cups suck. They release fast but don't last as long as the plastic ones (that are also $30 cheaper).

    Lighting a 90

It takes longer to see the long-term effects. My corals have exploded in the couple months that I have had mine. The only difference is the name and some are adjustable to do special effects where many value fixtures cannot be programmed like their expensive counterparts. But they do grow corals...

    uv light/ refugium

+1. There's a lot of people out there that recommend against them because they kill good bacteria, and they're right. But in some cases, its worth it to rid your tank of whatever is in it and then turning it off again. I think I've heard of some people mostly using them on QT's because they have...

    New tank bought on craigslist

Yeah, I don't miss high mileage. Not that there's anything better than an ole small block Chevy, it just takes work to maintain and/or rebuild something strong.
