Silicone inside the edges of the Tank.

It also has to be clear unless the black is specifically for fish tanks.

And lighting? They usually like lower moderate flow.

That doesn't actually answer the question...

Need help with a cooling fan...

You should be using RO/DI water only. There's too much crap in tap water that is bad for tanks. Eggcrate will be best. Any glass or acrylic will trap heat and prevent proper gas exchange, basically slowly cooking and suffocating your fish.

    Finally added my first fish...

And the last would be NPS, or non-photosynthetic. They have to be fed and are usually considered expert because feeding can ruin your water quality if you're not careful.

    Finally added my first fish...

No, shrimp and anemones, crabs, snails, etc...do not count. If you had a 1,000 gallon tank and 10,000 small invertebrates and a dozen anemones, that may be worth about 1 fish. Anemones do, however, need very stable tanks. They won't tolerate wide swings in parameters, they need high quality...

Well, it says to test the unit, place the sensor 1/5" above the water level. So I assume it will refill after 1/5" of evaporation.

    Green Bubble algae

If it was growing in my non-existent overflow, I would leave it so long as it wasn't blocking flow. It obviously is just a good place to grow so it's basically acting as an algae scrubber.

Ooh, I'm not really sure. If you put it in your sump it would be fine, but I'm not sure about big waves. I know mine runs really frequently, but I'll try to see if the manual says anything. I don't think there's an alarm for flooding, but there is an audible alert for an empty reservoir.

Love it. Only issue is the bucket doesn't fill itself back up. And I did have to trim the black rim to get the water level up where I want it.

    water issues

I'm going to guess that the test was either read wrong, performed wrong, bad test or just a bad reading and should be redone. If it reads the same again, I would say have it tested with a different kit. Are you using RO/DI?
