    Coral help!

Yes, I didn't think of that, but if you're mixing in 30 or 50 gallon drums, mixing overnight with a couple powerheads would be a GOOD idea.

    Coral help!

I think salt has come a long way since the early days of the hobby. Back then, one would've wanted to wait, but I think most mixes are pretty good now to mix and go.

Kyle's Super Awesome 40 Gallon Reef

Thanks, Anthony. I keep saying I need to hang it up, but then I go buy corals. I'm looking for LA Lakers zoas, maybe Joker zoas if he sells them by next week, a purple Capricornis, a sun coral and a blue something. Like bright blue. He also had a sweet red branching something...I should've just...

    Coral help!

I've never had a problem with asterinas, either. I haven't seen any in awhile, either. And one of these days I may be willing to ship a bunch of frags when I actually have big enough colonies to frag some nice pieces from.

    Coral help!

Nope. I guess I do with Euphyllia, but the have big, fleshy polyps and you want as much osmotic equilibrium as possible. But zoas, SPS, softies, nope. They do just fine as long as your params are good and everything is close. Another factor for me is that my LFS uses the same salt I do and mixes...

    Marinne's Reef

I'm having that problem, too. I can't decide what I want so I may just get a clown pair. Nice frags, though.

Kyle's Super Awesome 40 Gallon Reef

Lol. I may try that. I jokingly asked how much he'd give me if I fragged what I wanted he said $20/total polyps x what I bring back. So I may "cheat"...or I know a guy that wants some of those, radioactive dragon eyes and a red monti frag, so that's plan b.

    Coral help!

I mix with a 425 gph in a 5 gallon (usually 4 gallon changes) and I grab it and make sure it kicks up all the salt. Never had any problems and max make-up time is 15 minutes. I usually try to get it mixing before I start siphoning from the tank, though. As far as corals, yes they can go...

Picked up some pink lemonade zoas today. Pics when they open. He also has some joker zoas, but my wife made me pick... Hopefully they're still there next Friday.

New to LF - Need help raisin' ma fishes

With a 30, you can pretty much have anything except tangs, large angels, some large wrasses, triggers, etc...almost all small fish would do well if they are compatible. As for corals, you can have anything your lighting can support.
