Changing from sand to crushed coral

Also if you wash the sand really well before putting it in your tank you will get rid of those fine, dusty particles that like to get stirred up.

What kind of Hydor Koralia pump should I get??

The fish will be fine with the flow, and mine have always been happiest when there was lots of flow to play in. I would go with the 425, they hardly put out anything IMO. I have one in my 18 gal cube and the flow was so pathetic i ended up adding a 1400 that turns on/off to make sure there was...

    35g hex tank update

I am going to copy over a post by Bifferwine, which pretty much sums up this entire situation with the blue tang and many other fish/coral. You really should think about this. That is from this thread...

    Qt

Are you planning on QTing corals and thing for your larger tank? Because unless you go back In and properly QT the chromis you have there really isn't much point to QTing now. But I would actually just stick with water changes for the main filtration and skip those kits.

    A really good sand sifter

No, inverts dont add to the bioload. But I think that would be a waste of money, just give it time to let the ones that come in on the live rock to populate

    A really good sand sifter

Dry rock can be added right away, I would just give then a rinse first to get the dust off. For the ammonia I would do a water change

    A really good sand sifter

I would worry that the clown would beat on the chromis too much, or they could be best buddies. That could go either way...

    A really good sand sifter

Damsels are well known for bullying other fish to death, returning them would probably be a great idea. But I wouldnt replace them another fish, not for a very long time anyways. NOTHING good happens fast in a reef tank.

    A really good sand sifter

The fish would do much better if you feed them a variety of frozen foods. However, you REALLY need to stop adding fish to your tank. You should be only adding one or two fish every month. And you also also only have 1 fish for every 10 gals, so you should have about 6 fish in totally. You are...

A complete newbie who needs a way to start!

I've never heard that before, but I can guess It is likely a reflection of the fact they are probably in water that is toxic to them (ie high nitrates)

    New Tank soon

It actually won't limit you, fish are more horizontally oriented creatures than vertically oriented. The only exception I can think of is seahorses. The only way I can think of it being a limiting factor is for aquascaping and coral placement

    Hi Newbie SW

Using recycled live rock is fine, but i would be proactive in getting rid of the pests

    Hi Newbie SW

No, they are only doing that because having the light suddenly hit them is a bit shocking to them. They will adjust to the light
