    Why's my anemone crumpled

+1 It is pretty stressful on the anemone when introducing it to your tank. Give it some time to adjust, don't try to feed it and don't mess with it (unless it puts itself in harms way).

    tangs

I agree with both of you but the exception to this is the purples. They are the baddest of the Zebrasoma in my dealings with them.

    tangs

I would do the three yellow and Naso at the same time and then the purples at the same time. The Naso are pretty docile in my experience so you definitely want to add it with other fish so all the attention is not on it.

    Dry Rock Pillar

If your dry is good and dry and clean of any decay you shouldn't experience much if any of a cycle. Especially since you are using existing live rock from your other system. I have done what you are describing many times with no issues.

    What's up with Garlic?

Garlic basically adds enticement for fish to eat. People do it to help get their sick or finicky fish to eat and it does seem to work. Some claim garlic boosts immune systems and all that jazz but I am not in that group. If your fish are healthy and eating well then there is no need to use...

    Cleaner shrimp died...

I wouldn't dose iodine. A tank your size with minimal coral should only need weekly water changes to replenish needed element. I would get your SG up to 1.025/26 range. Inverts need that higher SG.

    salt_for_brains 180g Project

Nothing new to post. It has been a busy few months with my daughter graduating high school this year. Not to mention getting her scholarships lined up for college. Things should start moving a little better now.

    New nano reef

Keeping your reef in the 1.025/026 range is more like a natural reef. I generally don't get hung up on "the numbers" and chasing them but I do maintain my SG in the range I stated. If you decide to bring it up do it gradually over the course of a week. Usually just topping off with saltwater...

    New nano reef

Looks good! Just a heads up on the GSP--- it will really take over if you are not careful. I like to isolate it in the sand bed and only let it touch what I want it to grow on. The same can be said for xenia.

    Dark green spots

You are going to experience algae blooms with your new tank. Keep an eye on your nitrates and phosphates since they are major players along with lighting for the blooms. Be vigilant with your tank maintenance (i.e. water changes, sucking out food waste and detritus).

    first water change

You will experience different algae blooms which is all part of the new tank. Could be the start of coralline algae which is good. Hard to say without seeing it. The snails are there to feed on certain types of algae, detritus and left over foods.

    first water change

You're welcome! It is a good rule of thumb to wait a few weeks between adding fish to allow your biological filter(live rock) time to keep up with the bioload. Not really necessary with the cuc. However, you do need to make sure you have enough food for the cuc. As I said in an earlier post...

    New to the Saltwater World

Hi and welcome to LivingReefs! If a tang isn't swimming about there is usually an issue. Probably some stress because of territorial issues between the two tangs. I would consider getting rid of one of the tangs if this behavior continues.
