    200 Gallon build

Starting new build soon. 200 Gal. 72x24x26 Sump in the basement (wife's idea, I love her) no more carrying water up the stairs. Combining 2 tanks 70g and 120g into one. Will be posting more as it comes together, it’s going to take awhile. Over the years starting with fresh water and then...

    RIP Squamosa Clam

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the loss of our Sqaumosa clam. It was the jewel of the small tank. I have to say that juggling the 2 tanks is a lot of work. I was hoping the clam could have made it to the new build. I really need to get going on it but so much work, got to take time and...

    Flameback Angel acting wierd...?

I can't say what the fish might be doing with that behavior, some fish have peculiar habits. I am curious as to what your ICH treatment is that you are treating your entire tank. Generally speaking in the reefing community there are 2 ways to treat ICH with Copper or Hyposalinity. Read the...

    Guidance on New Tank Selection

If you got the money get the best that you can afford. The Red Sea setups are nice but a little pricey, keep in mind that you still need a return pump, heater, lighting and a skimmer for the sump. That does not include all kinds of other stuff that you may want like Reactors, UV sterilizers...

    Alternative to Nori clips

Yes but the time they get it down that far there is really not much left. I just got tired having big pieces floating around getting caught in the circulating pumps and on corals. Its not perfect but works better than any clip I've used. Veggie grazer looks good but way to expensive. In Canada...

What is this spider web like stuff?

Looks like it could be vermatid snail web possibly or some kind of bacterial bloom. The only times I've ever seen something like that myself was from a dying or damaged coral that oozed a mucous like substance.

    Flatworm infestation?

Noticed some spots on the mushrooms in the tank, I initially thought that it looked like a lot of little mushrooms growing on the mushrooms. On closer inspection I fear that I have a flatworm infestation. I have not introduced anything into the tank in two years or more. They only appear on the...

    Start of cycling.

You can remove it when your ammonia spikes, then monitor ammonia and nitrite. When both are zero, you should be good to go I have heard of people leaving it in until it completely disintegrates. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
