Powerhead and controller for 90 gal

Right, and they are all freakin huge eyesores in the tank, power wires and all. ;) But if you want sleek low profile AND full control out of the box, Vortech is the way to go. They can also be controlled even more by hooking them up to an Apex or GHL controller, both of which have Vortech...

    PAR and LED's

Hmmm… hard to say. The par from LEDs seems to be different than the traditional lighting options we are used to measuring. I can tell you that almost everybody I know runs their Radions at around 50-60% give or take. Maybe you could look at their par charts on their website and then use that as...

Powerhead and controller for 90 gal

I understand. But the koralias give you none of the attributes i mentioned in my first sentence. The OP asked for controllability and low profile design, in which case I would still recommend Vortechs. If available funds won't allow it, then you'll have to decide which features aren't as...

    Water changes ?

I don't know what a fortnight is. haha But +1 to above... You should still do water changes. I've heard of people attempting water changes by wet skimming, but never really heard much about the results.

    skimmer questions ......

This is exactly why all these new "innovations" in skimming technology actually hurt, not help. There hasn't been ANY improvement to skimmer in the past 20 years. The basic concept of skimming is simple and everything since then is just gimmicks to sell more skimmers than the next guy. Sorry to...

Powerhead and controller for 90 gal

+1 Ecotech is the only way to go for low profile appearance, no motor or cords inside the tank, wide flow, and complete control out of the box. They will also be offering further control of their Vortechs via EcoSmart Live (www.ecosmartlive.com) early this year. You will be able to run multiple...

    Powerhead suggestions

I second the eheim suggestion. I've never run them submerged but they keep going and going and going. Look up some reviews online.

    Water question

You really should be using ro/di water. There is a lot more than chlorine that needs to be removed. Why are you using a ph buffer? What is your tank's ph? I usually add additives to my sump.
