They are at the top of their game... for LEDs. I've had the Pros since the beginning of May 2013. So 10 months. And the Gen 1's for 9 months before that.

Thanks guys… and yeah… the led were fun for a while, but I would say I gave them a fair shake… 19 months. I just wasn't overly thrilled with what i was seeing over the long haul. Now… OMG. The tank is really starting to color up. Here's a couple pics and a video for your perusal. :thumbsup:

I don't know if you wanted to spend the dough, but two Vortech MP40's would be plenty. One on each side, facing each other. If that's over your budget, look at some of the chinese pumps or some Tunzes or Koralias and shoot for the same amount of flow.

How exactly did you get your algae under control? GFO maybe? You can overdose the GFO. If you are using GFO, I'd pull it offline for a bit just to see if that makes any difference. And related, if your tests are accurate, your po4 is pretty dang low. You'd be starving your coral at that point...

After pulling GFO offline back in december and upping my feeding a bit, I can finally grow macro algae. :D Here's some new pics of the fuge...

Plus you choose your wattage of MH based on your tank size. I would do a nice combo fixture. 175w MH and 4 T5's. The T5's would be your source of blue.

I remember when i first got my Gen 1's and was perplexed by how dim the tank looked in comparison, even at 100%. And then I proceeded to cook my coral like every other LED newbie. My Pros were running at 60-65% with the wide angle lenses. Even less with the regular TIR lenses before that. So...

It's normal for a duncan to close up occasionally for a day or two, but not a month or two! Like nick says, please post all your water parameters. Something isn't right. They like light to moderate flow.

Yeah, I'm back to mh/t5 for a while to see how I like it. Have had only led on this tank but there's things I miss about my old mh/t5 setup. So we'll see how it goes. :) You know, i'm not sure if that guy is still around but my other two are still on their respective gorgonians.
