    new 54 gal corner

Hello and Welcome! You are going to need another powerhead or two, and the canister filter really isnt for saltwater tank. I also dont think that the skimmer is very good either. How many bulbs does the t5 unit have?

    55 Gallon, a new adventure!

Metal halides and T5 are awesome for growing corals, you just have to make sure you have enough light. A few bulbs wont cut it. The downside to them is that you have to replace the bulbs every year and they cost more to run. LEDs you dont have to do that, but they are more expensive. In general...

    55 Gallon, a new adventure!

For under $200, i think you are going to have to go with metal halides or LEDs. I would look on cragslist. Most fixtures new are going to more expensive than that.

    Little Fish's Little Lovely Cube

With school, I just didnt have the time to keep up with it. This tank is quite a bit less work to keep everything running, and its been cheaper to run as well. Also I will have to move this tank over the summer because I will be traveling to Africa and its doubtful if my roommate will be...

    Qt

Well, a QT should be just a plain tank with a few pieces of PVC pipe in it for fish to hide. Most people dont QT inverts or corals. They really shouldnt be nice display tanks because the fish need to be in either hypo or copper, which would kill any inverts. Also, most people dont QT their...
