Liquid Midnight's 40G breeder

Been a while since I have posted any threads. Some might remember I had a 29g long and a 14g Biocube running. The 29g has been dismantled, but the Biocube is in full reef mode. Purchased the 40g breeder tank a couple months ago in Petco's 1$ per gallon sale. Everything from my 29g went into the 40g, rock, stock, water, everything but the sand. The 29g will be put up again in about a month.

This setup is:

40lbs of new black sand
30+ lbs of live rock from the 29g

Equipment is pretty minimal:

Bakpak 2
BeamsWork 600 LED strip
heater
2 powerheads
a screen top that I made myself

Inverts:
tiger serpent star
glue/grey starfish (not even sure on the species lol)
tiger cowrie snail
purple lobster

Fish:
fuzzy dwarf lionfish
baby zebra moray (added yesterday)
bluespot toby puffer (not my idea or what i wanted for that matter)

This is purely a predator tank setup, no plans on ever adding coral into it. The 29g will be another reef tank when its put up, and the puffer will be moved into there. I plan on getting some more predatory/aggressive inverts at least. Don't really know if I'll add another fish after the toby gets out. I'd like a fu man chu lionfish, but I will see how it goes. Anywho, photos! Crappy cell quality though.

He's pretty aggressive lol. The lionfish went snooping in the lobsters cave and came flying out of there after the lobster charged. But it was no match for the eel, kicked it right out of its home lol

how is handling of the eel and feeding? have you had them before? don't they need much more space even if a "baby"?

that screen top looks legit - nice work!

the eel is fine. in fact i think that little bastard ate my cowrie snail lol. ive only had it a couple days but i tried to give him a clam in a half shell and he turned his nose to it. but he readily took krill fine. he spends most of his time in the cave but sometimes ventures out and moves around. hasnt once lifted himself up enough to where i would think he would try and escape. i have not had a zebra eel before but ive kept snowflake eels. hes less than a foot long. maybe like 8 inches so far, and hes been at that LFS for months on end in a much smaller tank and hasnt grown much.

Picked up a new member for the tank. His shell is about 2.5 inches long and he's soooo Purdy. Much needed splash of color to a dull tank lol
