Reefing newb
Not sure is this is a type of algae or plant.
I got a really cheap piece of coral and it had a couple of these growing on it, I cleaned up really good before placing in my tank and now this stuff seems to be growing everywhere I look. It looks more like a vine with leaves

If it is only on the substrate, I'd pull out handfulls of the substrate with it, and dump it in the garbage.

Its only in that spot on the substrate. It was just the best picture. It mainly growing all over the rocks. Ive pulled all the rocks out and scrubbed super clean, but still comes back. It atttachs to the rock fairly strong. Its kinda like the weed vines that grow up the side of a house

Looks like a species of caulerpa. That stuff is really hard to get rid of once it takes hold. Try and get the roots out to get rid of it.
