When to use my MHs

Ok, I just added 6 mushrooms and some pipe organ corals as my very first corals!! :bounce:Now my question is, will these be alright with my VHO/Actinic lights, or should I now be using my 175w MHs (x3) for a period of time during the day?

Those MHs aint no good if there just takin up space:D
I'd start the MHs in the middle of the light cycle.Maybe 4 hours a day for a week or so,then add 15 minutes ever few days untill you got burning for 10 hours or so a day.

They would do good under just VHO`s. But as stated above if you have MH`s why not use them. I was just saying my mushrooms thrive with VHO`s only.

Thanks for the advice. Really only had FOWLR thus far, so I was saving myself some $$ on the utility bill until I needed to use them. *L* 10 hrs/day!? Whoa!

Neither of those corals required MH lighting. You can save some $ on electricity and not use them right now. They will be fine under VHO's.
